The Bucintoro is the galley of the Doge, head of state of the Serenissima Republic of Venice. This boat was used to mark the opening of the historic Regatta, a sporting event involving the best rowers in Venice.

Bucintoro has two indicators for the chronograph functions. Hinged on the central shaft is the chronograph seconds hand, which also allows to read speed (on the kilometer distance) through the tachymetric scale located on the rehaut. The 30-minute chronograph counter is at 9 o'clock and contrasts with the continuous seconds counter at 3 o'clock.
