For years, we nurtured an ambitious dream: to create a movement entirely our own, designed and produced in Italy. A project that once felt almost out of reach—too bold to become reality. Everything changed when we met Fausto Berizzi, a leading figure in Italo-Swiss watchmaking, with a background at Frédéric Piguet, Lemania, Vaucher, and now Technical Director at OISA. With Fausto, we found not only the technical expertise, but a genuine alignment in vision. The result is the V5000—our first mechanical movement, developed entirely from our own design (no. 402025000000420). A milestone, no doubt, but above all, the beginning of a new journey.

The Meeting with Fausto Berizzi
The V5000 is the result of ongoing dialogue with our community and the synergy between creative vision and engineering expertise. Years of listening and discussion helped turn aspirations and expectations into a concrete idea of what we believed the “ideal calibre” should be. Andrea Menegazzo, Head of Product Development, oversaw the design with precision and consistency, faithfully interpreting our stylistic identity. The technical development was led by Fausto Berizzi, who brought this ambitious vision to life. A leading figure in Italo-Swiss watchmaking, Fausto has worked with Frédéric Piguet, Lemania, and Vaucher, and now serves as Technical Director at OISA. The collaboration between such diverse experiences made it possible to create a movement that embodies the essence of Venezianico.
In the video below, Fausto shares his insights on the technical and design choices behind the creation of the V5000.
Foundations of the Project
Some key features of our first mechanical movement are immediately visible: the four-bridge structure, the slim profile, and the double-supported balance bridge—designed to enhance stability and timekeeping consistency. But much of the work lies beneath the surface. The split transmission separates the gear train for seconds from that of hours and minutes, improving accuracy and reducing internal interference. Other subtle details—like the micrometric axial adjustment or the selected escapement, chosen for its reliability—reflect the care behind every engineering decision.
Key Specifications:
- Power Reserve: Over 60 hours
- Balance Wheel: Free-sprung, copper-beryllium by Atokalpa, with 4 masselottes
- Split Transmission: Independent drive trains for seconds and hours/minutes
- Shock Protection: KIF Elastor® to resist shocks and vibrations

Artisanal finishing
The bridges feature radial Côtes de Genève, interrupted by mirror-polished anglage and selective sandblasting—finishes that enhance the depth and complexity of the movement through light and contrast. Even the area beneath the balance wheel is decorated with a delicate, hand-applied micro-perlage, a testament to the level of care dedicated to every component, including the ones most hidden from view. The balance bridge, in particular, includes an étirage axe—a traditional drawn-axis finish—highlighting the precision required to craft the most delicate elements. Every detail contributes to a cohesive aesthetic that reflects our vision of watchmaking with clarity and intention.

Redentore Utopia: a new chapter
The debut of the V5000 is marked by the release of Redentore Utopia, a model that reflects our philosophy of watchmaking: a balance of aesthetics and engineering, contemporary spirit, and respect for tradition. More than a product, Utopia represents the mission we set out to accomplish with this movement—to bring back to Italy a level of technical and manufacturing expertise that had long been dormant.
With the V5000, we aim to reaffirm that mechanical excellence can still be built in Italy, reviving our country’s cultural and artisanal roots in watchmaking and projecting them into the future. Produced in just 100 pieces, Redentore Utopia stands as a symbol of this vision: a starting point not only for Venezianico, but for the future of Italian mechanical horology.
