Between East and West
IFL × Venezianico
For centuries, Venice stood as a bridge between East and West, a crossroads of trade, culture, and artistic influence from across the Mediterranean. From this dialogue comes L’Odalisca: a hand-painted dial by IFL Watches, inspired by the Orientalist imagination of the late 19th century and the evocative atmosphere of European painting of the era. Each piece transforms the Redentore into a small wearable canvas, where figurative art, Venetian tradition, and contemporary collecting converge.
The Art of Miniature Painting
Entirely hand-painted by the artists of IFL, each dial transforms the Redentore into a refined miniature scene. Inspired by the Orientalist aesthetic of the late 19th century, the composition recalls the encounter between East and West that shaped Venice for centuries, through art, light, and Mediterranean atmospheres. Every brushstroke makes each dial unique, preserving the character of a true handcrafted artwork.

A Bridge Between Two Worlds
On the wrist, L’Odalisca becomes more than a timepiece: a hand-painted scene that evokes the meeting of East and West that defined Venice for centuries. Inspired by the Orientalist imagination of the late 19th century, the dial blends light, architecture, and the human figure into an intimate and timeless composition, transforming each piece into a wearable work of art.

Born in Frascati in 1844, Hermann David Salomon Corrodi was an Italian painter and one of the leading figures of 19th-century European Orientalism. Through his travels across Egypt and North Africa, he transformed Mediterranean light, exotic architecture, and distant cultures into poetic scenes that introduced a romantic vision of the Orient to European art. His atmospheric imagery inspired our artistic reinterpretation, translated into miniature form on the dial.

Created during the second half of the 19th century, Ladies of the Harem Bathing is among Corrodi’s most evocative works. The scene portrays female figures immersed in the stillness of a water garden, surrounded by Moorish arches, palm trees, and deep reflections. Velvety shadows, golden light, and rich tones create a contemplative composition, reinterpreted through the Redentore project as a miniature painting to be worn on the wrist.
